Sending a Hyperlink

The next time you need to send a large file to coworkers, consider this alternative: Put the file on your network, and send your coworkers a hyperlink to the file, rather than the file itself. Just type in the URL or file:// followed by the drive, path, and filename, and Outlook will change the text to a hyperlink.

If there are spaces in the file or folder names, put it all in angle brackets, like so:

<file://c:\my documents\my file.doc>
