Finding a Reminder

If an appointment or task reminder dialog box appears while you're busy, you can easily and inadvertently dismiss the alert. The dialog box's Dismiss button which deletes the alert is active, so if you accidentally press D or Enter, you'll delete the alert before you see its contents!

To find the action item if it's a task, switch to your Tasks folder and apply the Simple List view (select Current View from the View menu, then Simple List from the submenu). Right-click a column heading and select Field Chooser. Select All Task fields from the drop-down list at the top of the Chooser. Find Reminder in the list of fields, drag it to the top of the view, and drop it alongside the other column headings. Click the X to close the Chooser.

Tasks without alerts now stand out (they're the ones with no bell icon).

This works for your Calendar activities too. Select By Category as the view and All Appointment fields from the top of the Chooser. Find Reminder in the list of fields, drag it to the top of the view, and drop it alongside the other column headings. Click the X to close the Chooser.

Calendar activities without alerts now stand out.
