Working with Office
One of the first features of Office 2000-2003 you’re likely to notice is “Menus show recently used commands first.” In any Office application, when you access a menu, that menu only shows the commands that you’ve selected recently. The rest of the menu commands are “hidden” under a double down arrow at the bottom of the menu.
To expand the menu and expose these hidden commands, you can click the double down arrow at the bottom of the menu. Or you can simply wait: After a few moments, the menu will expand to show all commands all by itself.
If you always want to see a full menu, there are two ways to make this happen:
When accessing a menu, double–click (rather than single–click) the menu name.
Turn the “Menus show recently used commands first” feature off completely. Here’s how:
Select Customize… from the Tools menu.
On the Options tab, deselect the Menus show recently used commands first check box.
