Changing Menu Bar Icons

In other tips, we showed you how to change the image on a toolbar button. Now that you’ve changed the images on the Cut, Copy, and Paste buttons (to name a few), you discover that the pictures on the buttons no longer match the pictures next to the same commands on the menu. How do you make them match? Like this:

  1. Right-click any toolbar and select Customize from the shortcut menu.

  2. With the Customize dialog box displayed, right-click a toolbar button whose picture you changed and select Copy Button Image from the shortcut menu.

  3. Navigate to the menu command that corresponds to the button.

  4. Right-click the command and select Paste Button Image. The new button image appears next to the menu command.

  5. In the Customize dialog box, click Close.

Now your button picture and your menu picture match. You may now consider yourself a Master Customizer.
