Two Ways to Insert Comments

To place comments in any worksheet cell, right-click the cell and select Insert Comment from the shortcut menu. Type your comment in the yellow box, right below your name, then click anywhere outside of the box to close it.

Or:

  1. Select the cell you want to insert a comment in.

  2. Press Shift+F2.

  3. Type your comment.

  4. Press Esc twice to return to your worksheet.

You (or anyone else) can view your comment by resting the mouse pointer over the cell for a second or two.
