Using the Keyboard to Manage Your Workbook Window

Here are the keyboard shortcuts you can use to maximize, minimize, resize, and move your workbook window.

To minimize, maximize, or restore your workbook window:

Press Ctrl-F9 to minimize your workbook window, or Ctrl-F10 to size it to less-than-maximized. Press Ctrl-F10 to maximize it again.

To resize your workbook window:

  1. If your workbook window is maximized, press Ctrl-F10 to size it to a less-than-maximized size.

  2. Press Ctrl-F8. Your mouse pointer changes to a four-headed arrow.

  3. Press the left, right, up, or down arrow key. The mouse pointer jumps to that side of the window. Or press left or right, then up or down. The mouse pointer jumps to the corresponding corner.

  4. Press the arrow key that corresponds to the direction in which you want to drag the selected side or corner. Your window resizes as you press the key.

  5. Press Enter to accept your changes or Esc to cancel.

To move your workbook window:

  1. If your workbook window is maximized, press Ctrl-F10 to size it to a less-than-maximized size.

  2. Press Ctrl-F7. Your mouse pointer changes to a four-headed arrow.

  3. Press the arrow key that corresponds to the direction in which you want to move the window.

  4. Press Enter to accept the your window's new position or Esc to cancel.
