Function Key Assignments in Access 2003

F1 Displays the Help task pane

Displays Help topics (PivotTable View) 

  Closes and reopens the current task pane    
F2 Renames a selected object (Database window)

Displays the complete hyperlink address for a selected hyperlink (Table Datasheet View or Form View)

Switches between Edit mode and Navigation mode (Table Datasheet View, Form View, or Form Design View) 

Toggles between edit mode and cell selection mode (Query Designer in an Access project)

Opens the Zoom box Invokes a Builder Opens the Save As dialog box +ALT+SHIFT

Saves the active database object

F4 Opens a combo box

Switches to the property sheet (Form/Report Design View)

Finds the next occurrence of the text specified in the Find and Replace dialog box when the dialog box is closed (Table Datasheet View or Form View) Closes the active window Quits Microsoft Access

Closes the active window or dialog box

 
F5 Refreshes the Database window

Moves to the record number box (Table Datasheet View or Form View) or page number box (Report Preview View)

Switches to Form View from Form Design View

       
F6 Switches between the Help task pane and the program window

Switches between the upper and lower portions of a window (Table/Query/Macro Design View and the Advanced Filter/Sort window)

F7 Checks spelling

Switches to the Code Builder from Form or Report Design View (Design View window or property sheet)

Switches from a control's property sheet in Form or Report Design View to the design surface without changing the control focus

F8 Invokes the field list in a form, report, or data access page (If field list is already open, moves focus to field list)

Turns on Extend mode (Table Datasheet View)

Undoes the previous extension Resizes the active window (when it isn't maximized)   +CTRL+SHIFT

Turns on Move mode to move selected column(s) to the right or left (Table Datasheet View)

F9 Recalculates the fields in the window (Table Datasheet or Form View)

Refreshes the contents of a Lookup field list box or combo box (Table Datasheet or Form View)

Requeries the underlying tables (in a subform, requeries the underlying table for the subform only)      
F10 Selects the Menu Bar

Closes an open menu and submenu at the same time

Displays the Shortcut menu for the selected item

Displays a menu of commands for the Help window when the Help window has active focus

     
F11 Brings the Database window to the front   Toggles between a custom menu bar and a built-in menu bar  Switches between the Visual Basic Editor and the previous active window +ALT+SHIFT

Switches to the Microsoft Script Editor from the previous active window 

F12 Opens the Save As dialog box Saves the active database object
